Where is the EGR located on the MP3?

On the underside of the intake manifold.

Just follow the EGR tube from the exhaust manifold to the back of the engine.

ok thanks guys! I might just take my car to the dealer to get this thing fixed, plus a tune up! How much you think the dealer will charge for this?

Dealer says they charge $215 just to clean ERG. They said they usually don't replace those, but just clean them.

Brake cleaner if you do not have the wonderful acess to a parts washer.

^or throttle body cleaner. There is a LONG how-to somewhere in the how-to section. Just make sure to clean out the shaft properly when you open it up.
For the amount of money they are asking, I could easily buy a brand new upgraded model one for you, shipped. You'd still need to install it but...

Agreed with curl. I would do the same if i planned on keeping it... I have been cleaning mine about every 20k. I like to stay on top of things (do not need to be as insane as I am) but I have seen one from well over 80K and not that bad to my suprise.

Mine didn't until just recently, and still it wasn't really an issue at all. Had never been cleaned, even after 120,000+ miles. I just replaced it because the other one was just starting to stick a little, and was rather rusted. Got a newer used one from DoobyDoo for dirt cheap so I cleaned that one thoroughly and put it on. Didn't really notice a difference though as the sticking was only noticed by a dealership diagnostic machine.

Does the gasket need to be replaced or can I use the same one after cleaning the EGR?
