EGR foolishness

so my car threw a check engine light for a miss-fire and me and my buddies could not figure it out until my buddy popped the EGR tube off and plugged it with his finger.. and instantly it stopped the miss.. now that it isnt missing i have a check engine light for the EGR .. what can i do to stop that ? without pulling a fuse mind you

uhh..from what i remember there is no way unless you are actually using the egr...cant you clear the code? well that would pob only work a a little bit anyways.....your egr was probably dity or loose....

Could it be stuck open? The valve that is.
