egg on paint

My car got egged while I was driving it friday night and I washed the egg off within 10 minutes when I got home. I guess I must not have done a good job... I couldn't see any more egg but it was really dark. Anyways, it's several days later now and I went outside to my beloved car and I noticed that there are a group of new paint chips close to where I remember the egg being Should I go through my insurance company to get it fixed (saving up 500 with my pathetic job that only covers my weekly expenses will be tough) or should I just keep saving and get a CF hood? I'm gonna go outside and reexamine it but it makes me so sad.

EDIT: it's right in the middle of the hood too

id say save up and get a CF hood.....not sure exactly how insurance would deal with that but, its worth checkin into...ya never know....sorry it happened, that sucks man!!

I had the same thing happen but on my a-pillar but it wasn't the egg acids. It was the impact that ruined the paint. I paid the deductable because of the location the work require alot of blending and the cost was fairly high. It caused my insurance to increase substantially which proves what a bs racket insurance is.

Anyway, get the CF hood. You will only have to pay for it once unlike the stupid insurance claim.

if youre going to have to pay the deductible if you go thru insurance, you might as well save the money and trouble and get what you want, rather than just fixing it.

what is it with these immature people egging peoples cars? dont' they have better things to do? if they are really bored they should just go and wack off in the corner.

anyways i'd say don't bother with the repainting and insurance... your insurance will go up no matter what claim you make... chances are in the future you get your bumpers knicked by other ppls cars etc so save up and paint all in one go then....

i have a swirl scratch on my hood becasue of the impact from an egg. people are ignorant....
