Just received and finished installing my custom made Goodridge brake lines. This is the European market kit that I opted to have the colourflex hoses which have an outer nytrile plastic jacket over the stainless steel braids. This offers dust protection and limited abrassion protection of the lines. With the jacket in place, the great possibility of dust/sand working their way under the stainless steel braids is eliminated. If dust and sand gets between the stainless steel braids and the underlying PTFE hose, then it will eventually cause the hose to burst.

The kit for the 3rd gens with rear disc brakes did not exist in Europe before, and after lots of talks with Goodridge UK, I was able to get them to create a kit and part number for it. The standard kit does not have the colourflex hoses nor are TUV approved/DOT certified.

Because I was the first one to get such a kit, installation was NOT a breeze. The bulkhead fittings were too big (19mm vs 17mm) and I had to break out the dremel and grind down the fittings in order to make them fit the brackets. I have informed Goodridge UK of this and future kits should have the correct fittings.

This is the grinded down fitting:

I opted for the black lines because I wanted my lines to look factory. You can choose other colors such as blue, carbon look, clear plastic, clear plastic with "goodridge" printing, dark blue, green, purple, red, or yellow... these colorflex lines are NOT available in the US at all

and it looks stock!

minutes after installing the lines, they were already covered in dust... how can I trust normal lines that have the exposed stainless steel braids being constantly sand blasted? Also notice how convoluted the rear line is run. It is very close to many suspension parts and thus it is in rub city

notice how the stock lines have a little alignment hook at the end of the banjo fittings. The goodridge lines do not have them. It's not a big deal, but I had to line up the fittings exactly to where the stock s*** is supposed to be and torqued the banjo bolts down.

Those look nice I want to get some myself what do you mean by custom made did you cut them and install the ends or something?

Very nice, so are there any brands who sell a kit for our car in the states with the plastic covering over it? That should definitely allay any fears of stainless lines bursting.
