Does anyone know how I can mod my ECU. I wanna know how to download, read, change and reflash the ECU. I'm not looking for the Mazda technical computer, I just wanna know the protocols that our car uses(is it standard or mazda specific?)

Thanks

as of now there is noone else who can flash the ecu for us only a mazda serivce dept.
i also have not seen any maps available to show us what the look like.
but im sure youve heard of the flash that mazda offers...if not theres alot of info on these boards about it.

Got mine flashed. Now it runs worse. I want it to go back or try to read the maps myself.

If you find a way, you'd make a killing. There is a guy who reflashes Evo 8 ECUs, travels around the country, loads his basemap w/ better timing and fuel curve for $250 a pop. Takes him 10 minutes. When he comes to a city, he's almost guarenteed 8-10 customers.

Trust me, I've already asked him, he can only do it on Evo ECUs. :) He's from NJ, came down here a few months ago. On the Evo forums as DynoFlash I believe (as he also offers dyno tuning services). As a matter of fact, he's coming down again and will be at my friend's shop, Billet Design, this Saturday for an Evo meet. If you have any questions you want me to ask him, let me know.

I think I heard some EVO owners talking about him at the FL statewide meet we had at CB Smith. They said that he street tunes his ECU instead of dyno tuning because it yields more useable results.

Yep, I think the street tune he offers is about $500. But he has some basemaps he can load on the ECU for $250.

I'm in Illinois man. Plus its alot harder than it sounds to go pulling fuel maps from WDS. You're better off running a piggyback.
