Anybody try either (or both)? The 4x seems to be good for an a/s, and the 4x ii descriptions says longer life and better wet/snow traction. I am really just interested in knowing if dry traction has gone down with the new version.

For some reason I'm contemplating going with a 185/55 tire...I'm thinking they may not be so bad on my 15x7's compared to the 195/50 I'm running now. I also like the thought of having good traction in massive puddles, slippery mud, gravel, etc. I don't need that often but it's sure nice to have confidence there when needed. If I don't go this route I'll probably go the opposite direction and get some 15x7.5 wheels with summer tires.

Well I figured newer must be better, and 2 is better than 1....so I ordered the 4x ii.

update edit: I spoke to Ethan @ Tire Rack and in his meeting with Kuhmo, the 4xii was reported to have better traction under all condition at the expense of some ride comfort. I was very glad to hear that since I had already put in the order.
