Ive been looking at the $26 plus $17 ebay intake. Could you guys possibly post some pictures, reviews, or horror stories that come with this product.
Is it a SRI or CAI?
Has yours rust?
Are their hose clamps good, or need replacing?
Did you buy your own replacement K&N filter? How much?
Has anyone painted theirs?
Do you like to kick babies in your spare time?

JUST KIDDING! (on the last one)

never ever buy auto parts from eBay it's kinda a no-no. I've heard stories that it can provide no performance value and can sometimes reduce the power to the wheels. It will indefinently rust. It's probably made in a sweet shop by 10 year olds in china. It's in all a bad idea. Stick with the ones on protegegarage.com they may be a little more but are deffinently worth it

I am going to have to disagree with several points here.

Aluminum does not rust.
A pipe is a pipe. True, AEM/Injen spends alot of money to R&D them, but several ebay vendors are exact copies. Back when I owned a P5, I bought an ebay knock-off of an injen intake. No one could tell the difference. Quality was a 4/5, fitment was almost perfect (Had to trim 1/2" of pipe so it would clear the master cylinder (A common problem).

It is entirely up to you. It is your car, you may mod it as you wish.

You have to pay to play as the saying goes.

PM me if you have any further questions.

I got this one on ebay last year. It was a Canadian company, I can't recall the name. It cost around 60.00 and so far it looks perfect. I figure I'll just replace the cone with a K&N when it gets dirty. I did get a shifter from ebay at the same time and that thing sucked. I had to modify it to fit and eventually it fell apart. So.. you win some , you lose some.

On a Honda forum, they dyno tested 5 different intakes including cheap ebay ones and they were all within 1 hp of each other. I'll see if I can find the thread and post a link. Like the other guy said, the cheap ones are copies of the name brands. The only difference being the filter itself.

I got my intake from Procarparts.com. found these guys from Ebay!
they are local to me, so I picked it up for $54.99
comes with everything, and a K&N filter!
or they have an intake with a generic filter for $35.99, which I dont think is worth it. Just add about $20 more and get it with the K&N just to be safe.
Fitment was great! only thing I had to modify was the mount that goes from the intake itself to the frame of the car.
throttle response feels alot better.

I've been running my ebay SRI for 3 years now. Just change the filter and it's like a K&N intake except mine was 30.

I bought one a long time ago and it sounded good, but felt like it lost some low-end torque. I had to relocate the coolant tank and buy some better connectors and clamps to keep the pipes together with the MAF sensor. eventually I took it out come summer time and the generic filter was filthy. went back to the stock setup and never changed it back.

I got one a year ago and love it. Sounds great but I have noticed a little bit of a drop of gas mileage but i guess that it to be expected with any performance mod. Love it though and wont go back! lol.

I think i would have a decrease in gas mileage if i get one. I love the sound and would be ringing out rpm's all day long!

If i get this, my next product will be a magnaflow exhaust! My friend is very close with the big guy (actually a girl) upstairs at that company so ima see if i can get a % off.

If i get the Ebay intake i will no doubt get it with a K&N, and probably go to home depot and get new fixtures

THANKS FOR THE INFO!

i gota AEM is cool.
but a pipe is a pipe. theres really no difference in SRI's. only difference is price and filters.
other than that pipes are all the same.
but the simota's got that Venturi effect like the AEM V2's which is quite interesting.
anyone wana clarify if that venturi effect actually makes a difference?
friend had a AEM v2 and then switched to AEM sri and both were the same feeling...

some cars respond AMAZINGLY well to a simple intake bolt on

but, our cars are NOT one of those cars.

You'll be fine with an Ebay intake and a good brand filter on the end

I got a "BOMZ" intake from ebay. It was the sri version I believe. Anyway, it didnt fit right. I ended up going with an aem.

I got this injen knockoff from ebay about 3 years ago. Only problem i had was with the rubber bushing wearing out where the intake mounts near the headlight.

umm when you put on an intake you are supposed to lose low end torque.

anyways, there is no difference between ebay intakes and name brand. just buy a k&n filter to replace the crappy one those intakes come with. make sure the intake is clamped good and does not move around(so the maf wont get damaged0. you are good to go after that. but a simota for a 100 bucks seems mighty decent!

Ebay Injen clone. I stole the sticker from a friend that ordered the real injen.
