Just wondering who here uses an intake they bought from ebay besides myself? I know everyone likes injen and talks bad about the cheap ebay intakes but actually i'm happy with mines and for the price too!

Just wondering other peoples opinion, and I mean other people who have them in their cars.

Any problems? The only real problem I had which seems to be common is the pipe slighty touches the brake thing which I put a piece of material in between so it doesn't hit metal to metal. I wonder why it does that? its like even if they are different brands they all do that. Mines a Saber intake by the way and I have a home made cold air hose running to it. Aloha

I had one on my P5 for awhile. I'd still be running it if I didn't get such a great deal on my Injen(thanks jrodhotrod!)If anything, I think the Injen is a little bit louder. That's the ONLY difference I've noticed between the two.

Interesting that people say its lounder since its more enclosed. I wonder why? What I love is the sound my intake makes when I shut down my car and it makes that surging hissing sound...did your do that?

hehe, I try to get my door open before the hiss stops. I love that sound.

Poor man's excuse for a bov? :D

no offense but, wtf kina mounting bracket is that? is that one you made or did it come with the kit? anyway...i'm getting a great deal on a black injen cai...211 shipped.

Its just a generic bracket that came with it. Basically its made for any car so you have to bend and play with it. I could of done a better job but don't really care so did the bracket that way.

And plus you can't beat $45.00

WTF am I the only person that owns one? Sheesh..

Nope own one also and love it for a cheap intake mod that gives a slight jump in response. Will eventually go CAI down the road but this works well for now.
And you can get a simple L-Bracket from Home Depot that fits it perfectly plus keeps it off the brake resi. This is way better than those brackets as mine broke from racing the car to much (engine twisting the bracket)

I also have the sabre.

you might want to rethink your bracket. you've attached the MAF(which moves with the engine) to the stationary frame. the MAF's plastic housing has been known to crack, and it's about $350 US to get a new one.

Thanks! Do you have a pic or can you post a pic of your bracket and intake? Thanks

this is how i have mine mounted. i have since removed the bracket that's attached to the MAF. the other one looks ghetto, but it supports the intake well, and gives it plenty of range of motion. notice the rubber grommet on the battery mount....that helps to absorb some of the engine motion.

Thanks and your probaly right. But actually its mounted not to the frame but to the battery tray so has some flex to it. So for the CAI's where is it mounted to? Isn't it still attached to the Maf?

I know I posted this before but this is my home made CAI
And yes I know people are going to think water is gonna get sucked in but I really doubt it. Hey this is getting off topic of my original question!!

I got mine from Natey(Thaks, dude!), and couldn't be happier with it. I had it on for a little bit and while a buddy and I were putting on my RB catback, we got the itch to mod and we turned the Ebay SRI into a Ebay CAI. Fully custom and even used yellow piping to match the yellow couplers, whihc inturn match the yellow...car! :D

Oh yeah. I love the hiss too! :D

i actually took that bracket off and only use the right one to support the intake...but if you must know.... (you can't actually see the bolt, but you get the idea)

I've got one. Painted it gunmetal and put red couplers on it. And a S&B filter. Looks a whole ******* lot better now. :D Not bad at all for $45.
