Ebay intake..Holy SH#T..It works!!

The Bomz one sucks hot air from under the hood where-as the Injen takes nice cool air. That's a big consideration in my mind. I would spend the extra money for that reason alone.

Hi all, my first post! :)
I bought this intake listed above for $80 something bucks on eBay. It rocks! I saw previous posts about the lousy BOMZ filters, and was going to get a K&N. Steve89GTA is right; it looks like the cheapo intakes with a K&N.

The pipes are not chromed though, but polished. Was easy to install though with the supplied brackets. Sounds throaty as all hell too. Freeway mileage went up to 32 MPG on a recent road trip.

It may be a few bucks cheaper to get the BOMZ intake, and then buy the K&N separately. I got it already done to save the hassle. My only problem was with communication with the eBay seller. It was lousy. But I got the intake 4 days after the auction ended.

well like i said.......there is not a noticable difference in the "hot air or cold air " intake...i just saved $150 on the short one....and u are out $150....iS IT WORTH IT.........??????????HAHA i think not...........i prefer the BOMZ!!!!!!!!!!!

You have dyno proof of that?

We get way too much rain here in Florida. Before I made my decision, I read stories of water-related problems from people who used the intakes with air filters in the wheel well. I decided I did not want to risk it. I got the short ram CAI. A couple weeks after I installed it, I drove through a flooded area with water up to the bottom of the door sill in parts. I experienced no problems with water going into the intake.

All I can say, is that I am happy with what I got. If people like their Injen intakes, then I am happy for them too. Just enjoy what you drive, and be happy! :)

Hey Guys.

For you with the K&N filter on the BOMZ, what is the part number of the filer, I also have the BOMZ but want to install the K&N in it ... thanks.

its cheaper but watch out.

its all about quality and longevity...you have no idea what can happen in the future if too many dust or water particles get past the cheap-o filter.

the reason the injen is so pricey is because they are a time proven company with good quality parts.

but, if you are happy with it enjoy!

haha its a debate! glad you enjoy your new intake dude. post pics when u can! peace - chris

Also not on the same cars int he same locations and we have no idea what kind of correction was applied.

A good start none the less.

Sorry to be a pain in the ass mod, but we are trying to clean up all the forums to make it easier to search for items, and less cluttered. In the future, please post in the appropriate forum...example - Intakes, dispite being for the Protege5, belong in the performance section. Buying a carbon fiber hood for your Protege5 belongs in the Appearance section. If you raced someone in your Protege5 it still belongs in the Racing/Motorsports section. If you have any questions, comments, or complaints, feel free to PM me at any time.

Thanks again for your patience as we clear up the forums to make it better for you!

In this case this thread is getting moved to the performance section.
