This company SSAutoChrome on Ebay's offering this "disco potato" for $425... i've heard nothing but bad things about them but for $425 do you guys think it's worth it?

Do not buy a turbo from SSAutoChrome. They are knock offs and perform very bad. The wheels are not balanced and they tend to break in a very short time.

I dunno that looks good to me, and with 31000 sells and a 98% satisfaction they seem pretty legit, I never heard of them before

but if it goes anwhere near 400 bucks its a hell of a deal

and its not going for 425 as you said in your first post, its an auction it could end up being 1000 bucks in the end, most people dont even bid until the end

its crap... they were selling turbo's that were GLUED together... think about that for a second... Sink in yet? yea, stay far far away.

Ah the $475 is the buy it now price so......
And shouldn't there be a "Garrett" stamp on the turbo somewhere?

I agree I've seen a pic of one snapped in half. I think it was posted on here somewhere.

I've seen the one that snapped in half and the one that was glued but just the same two stories repeated over and over again. Someone posts the pictures on hondatech and suddenly everyone on the internet thinks they know everything about ssautochrome. Bottom line, the turbos are knockoffs. However the performance they offer for the price is unmatched. They have a 90 day warranty that based on their feedback theyve done a good job sticking to. I've had my ssautochrome t3/t4 for about 10k miles now and have yet to have a problem. It spools nearly as fast as the garret t3 48 trim i used to have and has yet to show any shaft play. So if you cant afford a real GT and dont want to risk buying a used turbo then the ssac is a pretty good deal.
just my 2 cents.
