Dumb mistake, now car going crazy

2002 Mazda Protege 5
So I'm not usually a complete idiot, but when I was jumping my 2002 Mazda Protg 5 I hooked the cables up in reverse order (!!!!). It's kind of scary smelling burning coming from the front of your car when it's not on, and totally fun trying to unhook melting cables from your battery before it explodes. The other car is fine, but the Mazda alarm is now going nuts whenever the vehicle has power. It's not just going off at a steady tempo like it normally does, it's beeping completely erratically. No matter what buttons I press on the fab, the alarm doesn't stop (I took out the horn relay as a temporary fix).

Am I going to have to replace the ECU because of my mistake? My problem is the battery is dead and I want to jump it but every time it gets power now it does this.

Anyone have ideas on the extent of the damage, and how to fix it?

Oooo boy I guess that would depend if you have melted your com and relays does the car run rough now ?

You may be able to disconnect or disable your alarm if your car is running fine otherwise... (although I don't know how...)

The alarm was an option on this car (mine doesn't have it) so it should be removable and may have its own separate computer.

Or, you could just leave your horn relay out and get one of these so the cops don't bother you...

Check all your fuses I belive and hope you would blow a fuse before fring your com .. I'd hit your local parts store and grab a battery and for 50 bucks you can pick up a error code reader it's the cheapo one but for the shade tree mechanic it does a good job
