Does anyone know if there are any dual exhausts made for the MP3? I'm getting a new effects kit on my car and it has a spot for dual. If I can't find any then, I'm going to have to find a different kit.

there aren't any unless you do a custom job - which might not be too costly if you check with a muffler shop. not to knock the kit or anything, but there is really no other functionality other than look to having a dual exhaust on the car.

it will look cool tough. wait dual exhaust, i thought he was talking about a dual tip. (hand)

The only 4 cylinders that can justify dual exhaust are the SRT-4, MR2T, & S2K

No, not even they can justify it. If 1 pipe is good enough for a World Rally car, it's good enough for everyone else :P

the only 4 cylinder that can justify dual exhaust is if there are any out there with two exhaust manifolds. the reason dual exhaust is helpful on a v6 or v8 is there are two exhaust banks trying to be shoved through one y-pipe so the duals eliminate the bottleneck. im sure at some point in time somewhere in this world theres a 4 banger with two exhaust manifolds.

twin turbo (rofl2)
u can twin a 4 cylinder but its ALOT of cash and pretty pointless, variable intakes with an electronic valve OR one turbo feeding the other.

Actaully, I found that MagnaFlow makes a dual. It's what Wings West used on their project MP3. In response to "dual exhaust on a 4cyl = dead weight. Although something tells me this guy isn't going for speed..." Let's face it, it's a protege. they weren't meant to go fast. If you'd do almost everything imaginable you would be lucky if you could pull 350 hp out of your ass and if your goin' for weight you better strip everything else outta the car that you don't need to drive it. Looks was all I was goin' for, there really is no justification for power with a 4 cyl. engine as was mentioned above. Thanks for the responses anyway, next time maybe you should ask what is being done with it instead of assuming things and making an ass of yourself.

thats funny that your trying to tell a mostly protege owner forum that you cant make a protege fast, if i recall correctly pirana's p5 put down 304whp with the hi-boost kit, many of the boosted members are running sub 14.5 which in the street import world under 14.5 is pretty damn quick and very respectable. granted there are faster imports BUT the proteges are nothing to sneeze at. and our whole point was you cannot have true dual exhaust on a 4 cyl, it would be single exhaust with dual tips. If your going to post something on this forum u might as well expect comments foor and against it. Its called an opinion, everyone is going to have one, accept it.

Point well taken. I agree that everyone has their own opinions, sorry if I sounded kinda like an ass myself, I had a lousy day, though that be no excuse. I'm curious to know where I can find that HI-boost kit and what else would have to be done in order to make it run right. I don't want to be replacing the internals all the time. Any power gains would be very welcome considering that my bone stock MP3 only cranks out about 140 hp at the flywheel.

Rishie (ARDMP5) is an authorized HiBoost dealer.

Also, I saw a P5 at Protegefest that had duals. lemme see if I can find a pic. :)

Here's a few:

eh, sorry I couldn't find it. It was two tips side-by-side in the cut out. It looked pretty clean.

Looks awesome, thanks for the pics. Now all I need is to find a way to pay for all of this stuff. I still have probably at least $10,000 left to pay on the car itself. I went to this Mazda racing website and they rebuild engines and all, is there any truth to how well this stuff works and whether or not it's worth the money if you have it to spend? Here is the link. http://www.racingmazda.com/fsseries-enginerebuilding.htm

Wow, those sure look nice. I really believe that with the proper engine management, there's really no need to build up your motor like that(unless you want to turn the boost up into the teens). The guy with the black car, Rishie, has been boosted for almost a year w/ no problems and he drives the s*** out of his car. lol, He preys on WRXs. (rofl2)

I'm from central Nebraska and was wandering if you guys knew of any other MP3's in the area, a decent car club, or maybe a meet that I could go to.

I've seen a few before. Theres a yellow one with two MSP sport tips on it. It looks PIMP.

If anyone has that pic please share
