Ever since I put on the injen cai, I've noticed that some days its sucking much more air and is much louder...then the next day its quiet and feels like its not sucking as much. This has been happening since I got it, but i cant figure out what is causing it. It will happen randomly...one day its fine, next day, i can barely hear it..... i've reset the ecu, checked the connections, etc. I also noticed that it affects spooling...the turbo spools much slower when its not pulling as much air through..but i guess that obviously going to happen. I don't know if its something further along in the intake or something to do with the valves, etc...

Any suggestions? plz...:(

this is probably a dumb question but have you tried taking the intake off and checking inside of it?

Bump.

That sounds extremely odd. I can't think of anything that would cause an intermittent airflow problem in the Injen setup. Anyone?

Peace...(hippy)

i did check inside the intake a few days after i installed it but it looked fine. haven't checked it since though...

even if something was inside disrupting airflow, why would it be fine one day and screwed the next day? strange...

will the sensor right before the maf on the injen affect anything? Mine was almost falling out and it felt like my car while boosting would all of a sudden loose boost and it still read that i was boosting on my guage. It would loose power and then kick back in slowly about 10 seconds later.

check the nipple connecting the bpv line to the intercooler piping. i myself and others have had these break off due to the poor design by injen by making the pipe leading from the turbo stay in contact with this hose and over sometime making the nipple come off since mazda barely glued it there in the first place.

My Injen CAI feels the same way. I've determined that it has to do with ambien temp, humidity level, gas tank level, how much s*** I'm carrying and how much my right foot weight at the time.
