Driving lights in place of factory fogs?

Not much fog here in Colorado, but I do live in the middle of nowhere and don't like hitting wildlife at 2am. Anyone know of a mod to the stock fog lights or an upgraded unit I can install that will allow me to get lots more lit distance?

Here is a free fix for the stock foglights. I did this mod and am very happy with the way they perform. I have yet to be flashed:

1) Remove both foglights from car. Remove both shields from foglights.

2) Reinstall foglights and push them both all the way foward.

you could also put some HIDs in there which would really brighten them up. just don't go over 35w

additional fog lights added on top of Stock lights

This may look bad but wonder if anyone has added additional fog lights, rally car style, maybe roundish like previous protege's to the front of an MS3. Wonder what this may Look like.

U see it a lot with Mini's and Mustangs... anyone?

both for looks and function too.

anynoe have a link to HID kit for our fogs at all? i wanna get 8000k bulb for my GTs stock HIDs and matching 8000k for my fogs

adding more lights is a jeep/orv thing...i think that looks totally rice on regular cars. especially when ppl get them from pepboys and just throw them anywhere, no allignment, usually only one works anyway, etc. and yes, i call it rice when it's on mustangs too

It has been done to a regular three hatch on "the other" board. However the person chose to mount them behind the grill and it was a no license plate state. He used two big round Hella fog lights. On the MS3 I would be concerned about blocking the airflow in this position.

Not necessarily. You never heard of overdriving your headlights? The reason for putting narrow focus lights designed to project way the hell out in front of you on your car is if you have a habit of driving at excessive speed on poorly lit roads. That`s why you see them on performance cars. I call lots of things rice that others wouldn`t, but if it serves a useful purpose, it isn`t rice.

i dont know.....i think if you were going to use such a bright light you might as well use your highbeams. i think the lights on this car are crazy bright because the hid's stay on when the highbeam are lit....i think an extra set of lights is a bit overkill because youd have to turn them off with oncoming traffic anyway.

these lights are hella bright at night...and if anyone is "overdriving" them they are going way too fast anyway, no matter what lights they throw on to make up the difference. plus, additional lighting is putting more strain on the alternator&components like wiring as well, and might be especially bad if someone doesn't install them correctly

now maybe if someone wanted to mount a light on their car that has the same power of that luxor hotel out in vegas (the pyramid hotel with the beam that shoots straight up) then i would bow to them

that would be sick. lol. there would be a se[perate battery just for the light. hahaha. drive by peoples houses and shine it in. so adolescent but s***....you only live once. i guess. then afterwards you could go into your garage and give yourself a tan.

I was responding to the general idea that only off-roaders put extra lights on their vehicles. I hope to hell no one would drive that fast with oncoming traffic in a position to be blinded by your brights, which is the circuit these would be tied in to anyway. I was referring to supplementing your high beams for safer high speed driving.

ha ha ha i do have a roof rack so i can add lights on top! our stock lights suck, I even changed my stock low beams to sylvania ultra-stars... burn out way to quick. Will try the HIDS in the stock Fog lights to see if I can bet improved night vision without attracting the P.O.

do you have HId's as your factory low beam headlights? this might explain a lot i you say your headlights suck.
