Driver's Side Window Won't Roll Down and A/C

Hey guys,

Been a while since I've been on this forum. I've upgraded from the yellow 2003 P5 in my avatar to a 2005 Mazda3 hatch. It's in great condition, with a few hail dings, but there's a few things bugging me.

1. The driver's side window won't roll down. I knew this when I bought the car and didn't think it was a big deal, but I'd like to get it fixed. I'm pretty sure it's a switch problem, so if someone could direct me to instructions on how to get the door panel off and fix that, I'd greatly appreciate it.

2. The A/C is finicky. The car's a 5-speed, and I'm learning how to drive it. I spent a lot of time in the parking lot practicing starting from a standstill, and occasionally the A/C would shut off. I was wondering if this is a safety thing to prevent overheating or maybe a real problem. My dad, who can drive stick, test-drove this car with me in the passenger's seat, and we didn't have a problem with the A/C during the ~15 minute drive. It was blowing cold on high.

Also, if anyone has advice for removing hail dings, let me know! I think I'm going to try the blow-dryer and compressed air method, since the dings aren't that big.

Thanks a bunch!

Update: I got the driver's side window working this morning. I was reading about the window getting stuck as opposed to a problem with the switch or window regulator. I fired the car up and rolled the window down with the driver's side door open. It worked fine! I shut the door and it rolled up/down with no problems.

Still not sure what's going on with the A/C, though.

Update again: The window isn't working again. I read somewhere that it may be due to temperature. Can anyone verify this?
