My drivers side headlight has gone out again. It's like 3 times in past 8 months. I don't know what the hell is going on. Each time i went back to mazda and had them install the new bulb.

Any ideas what's going on with it? Anyone have similar problems?

Chas

just an idea to throw at you --- can you tell if there are any cracks or openings that something like water could get inside and burn it out -- i know they can be sensitive -- just an off the wall idea ---

yeah..actually i drilled holes in headlight housing for strobes..could moisture be ****** it up?

chas

you have it done at Mazda? maybe they're doing it wrong on purpose so you can come back and buy another one. try doing it yourself next time. if it doesn't go out then problem solved.

I have tried many times..but it's a pain in the ass..and alwayz **** it up.

Is the dealer warrantying the bulb when it goes out? Especially if you are having them install it for you you automatically have a 12month 12000 mile warranty. If it goes out in that time frame they should be replacing it for free with the labor included. If that is the case i can guarantee you the dealer is not dicking you around because if they wanted to file false warranty claims with mazda they would be looking for something worth the time and money. Anyways either way make sure that the holes you drilled are sealed well with silicone and i would check the connector for the bulb and make sure you dont see any cracks or black marks possibly showing that the connector is faulty and shorting the bulb out on you. Good luck and hope you get your problem solved.

You may have done this.. but I'm throwing it out there incase... If you change the bulb, use an alcohol swab to clean the glass surface of the bulb, and DO NOT touch that part with your hands.. the oils on your hands will cause it to overheat quicker and burn out faster.

I cant believe someone will turbo their car, and do all of the supporting mods' but changing a light bulb is too much of a pain in the ass? Even changing the dome lights in my car is exciting because its time I get to work on my car.

Ha that is nothing I believe I am on my 10th+ bulb for my front lights, seems I go through one about every month or so. I have just lost count and my glovebox has a few sets in the just in case.

I think I have changed mine once, only because the cool blues I replaced the stock (non-burnt-out) ones with were discoloring the housings...

You've gotta be kidding right? I once changed my bulbs at night using a flashlight for light :D

Well i went to the dealer..the bastards tried to charge me $50 bucks for parts & install... To make a long story short..I paid $25 for the bulb.

Chas

Yeah..but i didn't know..when i went in..he told me since they changed my last bulb (using an aftermarket bulb)..that it wasn't covered under warranty..blah blah blah..but all i had to do was pay for the part since i was still under warranty.

I argued w/ the manager for over 1 hr. till i got blue in the face..and told him to go **** himself..and take the bulb out and shove it up his ass!

he wasn't very happy but neither was I. I didn't bother going into the Magnusson Motors act...i just kept complaining..till we came to an agreement.

But for future reference...i will be going somwhere else if the bulb goes out again!

Man, u got *****.

Seriosuly dude, the next time you should go buy the bulb and meet up with some people
in this forum around your area and ask them for help. Just buy them a beer to have it installed for you. (drinks)

Yeah..i got *****..But lesson learned...DON'T LET MAZDA TOUCH MY CAR AGAIN!
