Driver Power-Seat Not Moving Up

In my 2014 CX-5 I got a year and a half a go, the power-seat adjustments for the driver side used to work properly. But now suddenly it won't move the seat up vertically. I can move it front, back, and down with no issues. But since I can't get it to move up, it is now in the bottom most position.

When I pull up on the switch to make it move up, I don't hear anything at all. In comparison, when I push the switch down to make it move down, even though it is now at the bottom most spot, I can still hear/feel a slight rumble which sounds like the motor trying to see if it could move down any further.

I checked under the car to see if any of the wiring was loose or disconnected but I didn't see anything that seemed out of place.

First thing I guess is, do you guys know if this is covered by the warranty? I tried calling the nearby dealership yesterday and this morning. I got their service dept voicemail yesterday, and this morning I got an answer from a lady which said they would check and give me a call back in 20 mins, but still hasn't 3 hours later.

Secondly, anyone experiencing this same issue? Or is this maybe something I could take care of easily instead of going through the hassle of getting it repaired at the dealer? Any quick things I could check like fuses and stuff?

Thanks

Since it moves, the fuses/relay should be OK. I would see if the problem is warrantied and if not then disconnect the connector under the seat and check for corrosion, clean and reconnect.

Unless it's a high mileage car, why wouldn't it be warrantied? 36/36 bumper-to-bumper doesn't mean "everything except that pesky power seat motor!"

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Luckily it's working again, but should it fail I will be bringing it to the dealer.

that's what I thought as well, but I'm not 100% sure since I haven't done a warranty repair before. all my other cars are pre-owned and didn't have warranties so I work on them myself

anyways, I haven't received a call back from the dealership yet. I will call them again for a third time today to see what's up

that would be possible, with all the snow and salt outside, some of them probably got to the connections under the seat

any thoughts on what might have caused it or what you did to get it to work? was it just the up movement that wasn't working for you or were there other directions that didn't work as well? Just thinking, since you're in the northern east coast as well, and you probably got hit with snow storms the past couple weeks like we did, maybe it was just too cold, or maybe some salt/snow from the boots got to the connections or something?

edit: just an update, looks like it's working now again. I had to park it outside last two weeks, plus with all the snow and ice and salt, maybe something just got wet and froze or something. The car's been sitting inside the garage for 4 days now, maybe whatever froze on there melted now and it started working again?

I guess bottom line is, customer service from Tom Masano Mazda in Reading, PA sucks. I called them 4 times, left a voice mail one time, but I spoke to an actual person the other 3 times (which said they'd call back with more info). They never did. They were so nice when I was buying the car from them, I guess they don't care anymore now that they have my money, and specially since I was inquiring about a warranty fix where they wouldn't receive a dime
