I know it's still a ways off, but I just wanted to give all the Michigan folks a head's up that I will be having a big bash and bbq at my house during the Woodward Dream Cruise. My house is literally about a hundred feet from Woodward in Ferndale so it should be a lot of fun. I will post more details when the time gets a little closer. Let me know if you guys are interested in coming. I'm trying to estimate how much food and beverage will be needed. Any donations toward a keg fund are welcome too. (cheers)

As long as I don't have to drive ON Woodward, I'd be up for it.

That's the great part. You can hang out at my place and wander back and forth between Woodward all you want. And as an added bonus for you Kane, since I know you are a bike guy, Detroit Bros. is literally right next door to my house.

Never heard of them. Are they one of those "custom chopper" shops that are popping up like mushrooms?

Yeah, I've seen a few of thier bikes go by and they are pretty damn cool. They were actually on Discovery Channel's Biker Build-Off last summer.

Blah. I have no use for a bike that costs $75,000 and you can't ride it across town without getting kidney damage. I don't care what it looks like.

People that buy those are image-******, not motorcyclists. I just got back from a 1,500 mile road trip through the mountains of TN and NC on my 'Wing. Let's see one of those choppers do that without falling apart or putting the rider in the hospital with permanent carpal tunnel.

Oh... umm... {/threadjack}{/rant}

Yeah, they're cool to look at though.

Back on topic though...
So everyone is clear, no you don't have to drive on Woodward. The whole point is that my house is about 100ft. from Woodward. You can hang out at my place and walk right over to Woodward, check out the cars, and wander back as much as you want.

You gonna give us some back-road directions to get there?

Yeah I can do that. Like I said when the time gets closer I'll put up more details. I haven't quite figured out how the parking situation is gonna work. I'm expecting a fair amount of people to show up, and I know parking on my street will probably be full by 9am that day. There is a school at the end of my street that may have some extra parking space, but I don't know if it'll be enough, or even if they will simply rope it off. Worse comes to worse, I know other places within a mile of my place with tons of parking that we can shuttle people or they can just walk about 10 mins.

August 20.

I'll be down there somewhere. If I have eveything installed on my car by then and people are interested in seeing it, I'll bring it by. Otherwise I'll probably just brave the crowds.

well by mid-august I should have the MAM Manifold, MAM Downpipe, and AWR Coilovers. (and a few small things)

The manifold is sitting on my bed. I'm waiting for the DP so I can do some tests with it before I put the mani on.

The AWR coilovers are on, but I'm sorting out issues so it's not complete yet.

OK, update for my Dream Cruise party. You can come on over anytime after 10AM. I will have 2 kegs and lots of hot dogs, you are more than welcome to bring other food and drink. I will have the grill going for most of the day and I'll cook whatever you bring. There is also a bar right across the street for more food and drink. I am attaching a map of the area and the official party flyer. Parking will be extremely limited near my house but I know plenty of other parking spots that are a short walk from my house. You can just give me a call on my cell, 248-703-5099, if you need help with directions or where to park. My address is 206 E. Drayton Ferndale, MI 48220. It's the first house in from Woodward on the street. There will be a Mini Cooper and my car parked in the front yard so it will be easy to spot the house. Hope to see a few of you there.

Just to add one more thing. If you plan on coming out for the party, you might want to bring some sort of folding beach chair either for just hanging out at my place or for some place to sit while watching cars.

Hey, I don't know if you're wanting a head count or anything but I'm planning on showing up with my gf.

Oh, and your "plenty of other parking spots that are a short walk from my house" may end up being snapped up by other people. From what I hear, just about every available spot where you can stick a car gets covered.

I may bring the bike and park on your sidewalk. (thumb)
The only bad thing with that is I won't be able to bring any chairs. (notcool)

Decisions, decisions...
