this morning i drove the 20 min drive to work and parked the car. 20 min later had to move the car so i started to back out of the space and noticed a lot of smoke behind me. it was whitish in color, and there was quite a lot of it.

i drove away cautiously and didnt notice anymore smoke. let the car idle for about 5 min and didnt notice anymore then either.

this is the first time ive ever noticed smoke coming out.

just wondering if installing my test pipe and removing the second cat ment more smoke? or are my seals starting to go?

it talks a lot about prolonged idling. but mine happened just at start up. lots came out then it went away. so like u said, test pipe most likely the issue?

before i turn the car off whenever i get out ill let it idle for 5 min or so to see if it comes back

If you want to test it, drive 5-10 miles on a cold engine, then park and idle for an additional 10-20 minutes. If you see smoke, grab a camera and record smoking. Take it to the dealer.

Right now, instead of a turbo replacement, you're looking at going with the 5w-40 temporarily and getting the upgraded PCV components. At this time, noone knows what that might be, but it's more of the problem than the turbo itself.

there was another thread some where (I can't remember sorry) to rev the car up to about 3500-4000 rpms for about a minute after letting it idle for 5 minutes. People have been able to reproduce the smoking this way.

okay cool. ill give that a shot after work.

Probably will be denied unless u put back in your cat. Maybe u can trick the dealer. Take a video with it smoking then show dealer then put your cat back on.

Hopefully they wont go through the their test procedures. But being up in Canada they probably dont know about the TSB 5w-40 oil or the coming soon PCV...
