these guys already got the 2.3 in the single digit quarte mile. why haven't they spread the word.
why do we have to search to find equipment for our cars (compared
to the hondas and scions where you find parts in the grocerie store)
do'es mazda have any interest in catering to the enthusiast that want to modify a good thing (hopefully to make it better).
why haven't we seen any Hi-Boost products in the magazines?
goldwing2000 said:Why would they?
why not. it would help them create a buzz on this new car
at the same time make bonus points with mazda and other
sponsors. after all, aint that what all those billboards on the
side of his car all about.
Because, until recently, Mazda hasn't been marketed as a performance brand. And now, with all the Ford electronics, it's too much of a pain in the ass to modify things.
the mazda speed protege, rx7 & rx8 weren't "performance brands" am i missing something. If Greddy & Apexi can manage to make a 20B run, the 3 should be a piece of cake. Everyone is running piggyback or standalone
systems anyway.
That's easy. No. If you're not modifying with Mazdaspeed parts, why would they give a rat's ass?
for the same reason honda, scion & mitsubishi do. if it helps sell cars,
why not? not even Scion owners stick to their own brand when the time
comes to modify their car. Scion sell some pretty nice stuff in their catalog.
Because advertising costs big bux.

you gotta spend money to make money. there are way's to get your car in the magazines without paying a dime "if it's good enough" and for that, Hi-Boost will have to do more to their car to get it noticed. Just a turbo won't cut it unless they can get a car in the power pages of Import Tuner
mobomelter said:i know this is probably a stupid question but why the hell do you need a wheelie bar on a front wheel drive car? unless its to keep the front end from raising up at high speed.
I don't know how you think drag racing works but it's not up to the teams to "create a buzz" by doing anything more than winning races.
I didn't say Mazda didn't make performance vehicles, I said they didn't market them until recently. I never saw a TV commercial for the MSP or the RX-7. And the RX-8 qualifies as "recently".
Unfortunately, as a corporation, Mazda doesn't think that way. I don't know why.
Hi-Boost doesn't want to "get their car noticed", they want to sell turbo kits. In order to do that, they have to either spend a ton of money to make a single car "good enough" to get a feature or spend a ton of money on advertising. Juan doesn't strike me as someone with a boatload of cash lying around to blow on crap like that.
But you don't have to convince me. Talk to Juan and give him your master plan. He'll probably either agree with you or laugh in your face.
Yeah, but that's still AT the race. You don't see John Force taking out ads in magazines or renting billboards. Last I heard, it's the sponsors that do all that.Gotta disagree. you can win races but if you dont represent you go unnoticed. why do you think John Force is so popular. He can loose the
race yet the press will interview him first. in his post race interview
he'll try to cram as many sponsors in as possible. Yes winning is good
but you can still make noise without it. You just got to put you and your product out there for people to see.
Before my time. Sorry.i don't know how old you are but you might remember the the RX3 sp
commercial with the 2 strips of flame left on the road.
or the Rotary that turn everyone out at lemans. Ooops thats right, you'all
were driving muscle cars back then.
As you said, it takes money. And and I said, I don't think he has boatloads of cash lying around. You'd have to ask him to be certain, though. No need to laugh. Publicity and economic growth is not a laughing matter.
If Juan wants to stay small, more power to him. but i think its to his and our best interest to take the next step. He's got an excellent product that married to an excellent automobile, can make him a wealthy man. I wish i had his tallent for producing products that people want and are willing to pay a pretty penny for.

Maybe now he doesn't but i'm sure that in his early years he sold himself like a two bit hooker.
Before my time. Sorry.
you missed a real cool commercial.

barod60 said:you gotta start somewhere. Juan uses different providers to complete his system. it would probably be to thier best interest to promote Juan also
so, by himself, he might not have the bucks but if he got spearco, haltech
and gerrett involved, thing start to look feasable
I'm not to hot at this computer stuff but you wouldnt happen to know how
to forward this series of dialog to Juan. i'd really like to know waht he thinks
about all this.
anyway.... it's been cool.
