I rev match whenever, never really having a reason, unless im racing from a roll or something. Say im in 5th gear at 45mph, to slow down i would hit my gas till it reaches 4k rpms then clutch out for smoothness, if im racing id rev to a little higher than 5k drop the clutch and then floor it, id either lag for a sec on a hot day or be pushed back into my seat like no other on a cold night.
