Downpipe ????

I'm ready to get a downpipe, I am wondering what I should go with. I want one with a cat so I don't have to take it off come inspection time, I know Apex makes one with the cat but does anyone else, and what kind of results have you seen with them?
Thanks, Jason

nope. so far no one else makes one with a hi-flow cat. no dyno results thus far of one with a hi flow cat. guess you could always buy your own cat and have it welded into place. or just have a shop fab up the dp. shouldn't be hard.

lately i've been thinking of just getting an electric cutout welded in front of the cats, so it could go from no cats no restriction to bone stock... won't happen for me though until at least when i get back from australia in may

Hey Spicy, do you think we will get into trouble here in SoCal without the pre-cat on our car? I want to order that downpipe from you, but I would like to know what ramifications I would be looking at if a cop looks under my car and sees the cat missing. The main converter will still be there until I get a high flow, but do they test these cars every few years? I just moved here, we didn't have emissions laws like California. My other car has all high flow stuff from the engine back. What price do we get ordering from you? I found a shop to make me a downpipe for about $100-150 he said. He would even take off my resonator for the $150 price. Has anyone done this? I like the stock exhaust, it just doesn't sound mean at all. My other car has a deep growl to it, this MSP sounds pretty weak in comparison. Any suggestions?

the protosport dp replaces both cats if i'm not mistaken. so it's basically a straight pipe. and from what i hear, if you get caught running without a cat in cali, you'll be hit with hefty fines. you could probably get a hi-flow cat welded in place with the protosport dp.

yes you could get in trouble if caught. The sound is not much louder though with my DP on then It was before. FYI I still have my stock ehaust on as well.
