Double (Full) size mattress in CX-5

Hi,

Has anyone tried to haul a double size mattress in cx-5? the mattress will be 54 in 75 in (137 cm 191 cm). I know the approx length of the cargo area when 2nd row is down is 1.6m and the width is slightly longer than 1m. I'm just wondering if anyone has successful experience putting it in your car. That will save me some good amount of delivery charge. Thanks in advance!

Length will likely be an issue. You can easily strap it to the roof though.

As said above, length will be an issue unless you feel safe with hatch partially open and tied.

I've hauled a twin size from Costco using my 2002 CR-V (inside), so I'd think CX-5 should do fine. Just lower the front passenger seat back.

Update:
Today I tried to put a full size bed frame inside the cabin, it barely fit with one side laid on the driver's armrest. with much wider mattress, it surely not possible to put it inside.

I did a twin size mattress and that was driving back with my chest almost touching the steering wheel with the seat all the way fwd. Good thing I live close by.
