does this goddamn game get any light at any point in time or do you have to constantly switch between that $5.00 flashlight and your weapon?

nope. gotta keep switching.

which is why, no matter how good looking the graphics are, that game ******* blows.

the game takes place way in the future, and yet they haven't figured out how to attach a light to a gun, or even a helmet. marvelous...

(deleting game)

that is so ******* gay that the game seemed to offer so much, yet is so ******* stupidly dark.

Get the Flashlight Mod if it bothers you that much. Personally - I thought it added to the overall atmosphere of the game.

Still, the logic behind the flashlight mod is pretty reasonable: "Surely somewhere on that base is a roll of ducttape. Any space marine would ducttape a flashlight to his handgun and shotgun."

I seen "used" Doom 3 copies in the video game store the day of the release. A couple people bought when the store opened and by the end of the day had sold it back to this game store.

Reason? The flash light thing is what the 2 people said.

You got something else going on there I have an ATI 9200 thats on par with the 5200. In fact yours is a tad bit better. I can run the game just fine. Just have to tweak the in game settings to medium quality

I haven't played it myself, but from my understanding the difference between the medium setting and high quality setting is pretty big as far as system performance goes.
