Doesn't anyone at Mazda habe the brains to figure out how to link tone/balance.

Mazda CX-5 GT with Technology Package
I switch between various resources (AM/FM/SERIUS/Bluetooth) and it really grates me that if I want to optimize my listening I have to get in a fiddle with the Bass/Treble/Balance controls. Radio stations today have well defined formats just as SERIUS does. Why can't the settings for Tone/Balance be linked to the resource? The seems to me a rather simple bit of software to include in the package. I own some Bose products and have been very pleased with them so the only conclusion I can draw is that the people at Mazda who are managing the AUdio system integration just have never really used their own product.

Generally bose product are over priced crap. In the cx5 it is ok. But what bose calls " home audio" is a joke in the audiophile world.

I do agree with you. My home audio receivers all remember specific settings for each individual source. Not sure why this wouldn't be done here as well.

Also a setting for the startup volume. Variable volume with speed. I had these in my previous 2008 VW Rabbit.

You have that in your CX-5 too. Mazda calls it ALC, I think. All three versions of the CX-5 audio system have it (think Bose has a different name for it though).

AudioPilot on the Bose. ALC varies volume as a function of speed, AudioPilot based on cabin noise.

As I understand it, Bose only makes the speakers. The head unit, amp, et cetera are overpriced crap from someone other than Bose.
