Does this annoy anyone else?

Mazda is saying that the MX Sportif has been developed to "blur the lines of traditional vehicle segmentation." If I hear another carmaker say this I'm going to throw up! I don't want a crossover vehicle! I don't want a tall wagon like the Matrix that has to be lowered 6 inches before it looks like our P5's do now! I want a car! Remember cars? What we used as transportation before the carmakers (notice the word car!) decided to tell us what we want. If Mazda builds the 3 as a matrix/vibe wannabe, I will be moving up to a 6 hatchback when my lease is up. I guess at 27 I'm just not the right target market, even though I can afford a $30,000 car, unlike most members of generation Y.

I agree i think alot of us have become geteration:wtf: when it comes to this crap.

Unfortunily car manufactures make the most money on trucks these day and very little to none on cars. Is all about the $$$$

I think when everybody sees the 3 in person they'll calm down. It's not a freakin' Vibe, or a "tall wagon" or anything. Mazda moved the beltline of the car up, just look at the pictures with people in it or next to it. I doubt it will be more than an inch or two taller than the current Protege/P5, still nowhere near a Vibe or Matrix.

The vibe has a sedan body style too and it looks realy tall. At least they don't look at tall at the stupid Suzukis. I say a kid driving around a new suzuki yesterday with a big ricy bumper and a hood scoop. I am sorry, but those cars just remind me of the short bus. To tall for the width.

There is only a hatch/wagon style for the Pontiac Vibe, please show me a picture of this Pontiac Vibe sedan.

On the other hand, Mazda has confirmed that there will be both hatch/wagon and sedan bodystyles for the Mazda3, and here are some initial drawings from Autobild:

The Mazda3 will come in both sedan and hatch/wagon just like how there's a Pro and a P5.

i am just kidding, i am with you on this. i agree, cars are cool. i think matrix looks good on the PICTURES but when you see it in person, you realize its just way to tall like the aerios.

btw, when did GEN Y start anyway? like years and s***.

Lots of used MX-3's for cheap on autotrader.ca
And whats wrong with the Miata? ;) Thats my next project car.

nothing wrong with the miata, it's just that it's a completely useless car here in nfld. And I barely fit comfortably in one.

I think with all this retro s***, they should bring back RWD...c'mon, would the T-Bird sell if it wasn't RWD? No.

I'd love to see a 2+2 fastback/hatchback Mazda6 at some future date!

... yeah, me too!

and yes, I truly miss those MX6/Probes - I had a 1990 Probe for almost 13 years (didn't want to part with it, but was car #4 in a 6 car acident last January and was totaled out)... and since the RX-8 wasn't out yet and I need a back seat for 2 car seats and like to have a hatch I went the way of the MP5.

Hey does anyone here know someone at Mazda that we could start a letter writting campaign to help get them thinking about starting production on a 2+2 fastback/hatchback Mazda6?

im 17 and that car has NO appeal to me.. is it a gonna be a soccer mom car? please tell me its not

I hope it's not, also.

... Well what attracted me to the MP5 was the versatility that is offered if I need to carry large stuff ...

:D

... like when I was your age and use to be in a band and had to haul my big old Fender Bandmaster 200 watt tube amp and electic keyboard around to our gigs ... so I needed all the room I could get ...

;)

O.K., I admit I'm probably old enough to be your dad (and I don't think of myself as a "soccerdad" yet - only because my 2 kids are just a little to young to play)... But, I was originally looking at an Acura RSX or Celica, but ended up with the MP5 (partly because it was cheeper and I really realy want to buy an RX-8 in a couple of years anyway) plus the MP5 has 5 doors which on ocasion I need to take my car-seated kid somewhere or move something big ...

I aslo liked the fact that the MP5 is not a SUV, but a little sport wagon which drives and handles great! I hope that the new Mazda3 wagon (that's been seen from these autoshow pics) will carry the MP5 sports tradition farther ...
