Does the ECU cut the A/C under high load conditions

I thought on some cars the computer can cut the A/C compressor briefly to aid performance under heavy load. I don't recall experiencing this in the P5, and don't have a wiring diagram handy.

Anyway, if not, there was a device sold quite a few years ago called the "Pass Master". Basically all this was consisted of a vacuum tank that turned off a switch when the vacuum fell towards zero. You hooked the A/C up to it and it provided cutout when you really needed it.

I can't find these on eBay etc. It would be fairly easy to build one though.

Maybe , I notice at certain points when I drive my AC will cut, fan speed will stay constant, but the air will be cool not AC cold. If this what you're talkin about my guess would be the ECU would have something to do with it possibly. If not then we both need to find an answer lol

the compressor will shut off on wide open throttle
so only when you have it all the way floored

hmm that's about what I thought from operation. I kinda wish it would cut out a little earlier for performance increase without having to floor it. Guess I can look into coming up with me own relay in series with it, triggered by either a vacuum level or like 3/4 throttle.

I'm pretty sure every modern car shuts off the a/c at WOT, the amount of drag a compressor would have at 6k rpm would be atleast 20 hp I would think
