Does anyone have a red 6 with some body work done on it?

Im trying to find a used 2003 Mazda6s around my area (cleveland, OH) with leather and a sunroof. The only thing with a low amount of mileage that I found was a red one. Red would not be my first choice. I want Lapis Blue....even black or white would have been better then red. Anyways...just wanted to get some ideas incase I do decide to buy this car. Thanks

Question for you guys...I really like the lapis blue 6s but i cant find a used one near me for sale with leather and a moonroof. I have found a fully loaded red 6s and have found a lapis blue 6i with sports package and leather. I could put a moonroof in. If I do not plan on racing or doing work on it to make it faster although I like the torq in the 6 cylinder...which would you pick? To all of you with 6i's....are you happy with the speed?

The 6i MTX is nice. The 6i ATX is...well it feels really slow compared to the other options.

6i MTX with light mods is faster then a 6s ATX with no mods, and is grippier in the turns (300 lbs less weight).

If you can't find the car your looking for, extend your search. Don't settle on a car you don't want 100%. You'll just end up being only 95% satisfied, always wishing you got the other color, or getting a different option, or different transmission.

Alot of mazda6 members are like that...

"I should have gotten the lapis 6s MTX..."

"Man if only I had waited for the hatch..."

"oh man...performance white is the hottness..."

"Damn I should have gotten the mtx!!!!!"

Better to drive an extra 100 miles for the car you want, then settle nearby home. Besides, you gotta drive that baby around after you get it, think of a long distance buy as a good excuse to break it in on the way home :).

Aww, crap - I should have gotten a Lamborghini Murcielago.

No wait - what is this thread about?

Caspah - aftermarket sunroofs done by good, reputed companies have the potential to be MUCH nicer than the stock 6 sunroof. Buy the 6's buttons and controls etc, but have them install a nice, larger sunroof that tilts and slides. You can add on features like presets for open-ness, and auto-close when the key is removed, and auto-open to memory position when you unlock the car! Not to mention one touch open and close for slide and/or tilt!

And good companies provide at least a 5 year warranty against leaks, operation malfunctions etc etc, and many provide LIFETIME! This may sound weird - but try asking a Mazda dealer whom they use aftermarket, and let them take a small cut - they'll be somewhat responsible/answerable if something does go wrong - which is HIGHLY doubtful!

Sunroofs are one add-on that have the potential to be MUCH better than stock.

And as for the car color, tranny and engine choice - test drive all four permutations of the engine/tranny and then decide what you want. Crossbow's right - DON'T compromise :)
