I took a drive up to D.C. yesterday to drive the new 2013 Ford Focus ST

By the time I got home my back was killing me from the drive. These seats have NO lumbar support at all...

Yea I commute 2 hours a day in it and I can say they aren't the most comfortable seats in the world. But they sure aren't the worst lol.

I've owned my 2 for 2 weeks now and I've been getting hip pain! I find that getting in is a bit of a chore as I have to duck my head much lower than I have ever had to. Thought about making a thread about this, but was embarassed. I am about 20 pounds overweight, but this didn't happen in my old cars.

I'm prolly 40 pounds over weight, but my speed3 was rather comfortable, these seats just need some more to them

12 hour round trip drive a couple weeks ago didn't give me any problem. My wife did say the seats aren't as comfy as in her 5, and was glad she brought a pillow for her lower back. Now to more important info......how was the focus!?

lol, focus was good. The steering wheel and seats are awesome! The shifter and hand brake handles feel cheap and the ebrake feels like it would brake if you tried a power slide of any kind. The gauges for boost pressure and oil pressure and such are a little oddly positioned and not the easiest to read. Engine sounded throaty, there's a butterfly valve that opens under full throttle so you can hear more engine noise inside the car. The speed3 has more trunk space than the focus. The speed3 felt more raw and unrefined but more fun at the same time. The focus seems more controlled but handled great. The cockpit of the focus feels closer and cramped while the speed3 is more open. The engine looks harder to work on than the speed3 and everything seems more covered with plastic. However the focus has a front mount intercooler to avoid heatsoaking and get a cooler charge. Would I buy one... NO, would I drive it someone gave it to me... YES

Excellent! Before I got the 2, I thought the ST would likely be my next car (or a speed3). Then I decided it didn't make any sense to buy a new fast car when I hardly have time for events anymore, had just gotten an expensive rash of speeding tickets, and was spending way too much on gas. Thanks for making me feel like I'm not missing out on as much.

My wife drove the CorkSport 2 a few times before it was turned into a B-Spec car and with the suspension is had on it she said he back would hurt a bit after the drive. In her younger years she did gymnastics so she had some back injuries in the past which is what we think that did it. I personally never had any issues in the car on long trips.

I think the seats that were in my 2 are honestly more comfortable than the ones in my current 3. The CX-5 seats are amazingly comfortable

My experience is that the M2 seats are very Ford like. Not enough lumbar support.

I have a OMP lumbar support pad which is a simple pad with velcro on the back that is located in the small of my back.

For me, that solved the problem. Lots of lumbar support solutions out there.

Yeah, it definitely does some wear on my back. Took a 3 hour trip to NY and about 2 1/2 hrs in, my hips/legs were almost numb :|

I just bought a 12 touring a few hours ago and it was a 50 mile trip... maybe it was the adrenaline of a new car, but i have no complaints...

im fine with my 2 and i drive alot during the day for school work errands at work errands at home stuff for school. the seats arnt the best but they are better than other seats ive sat in. just gotta wiggle dat ass till it fits like a glove. den wiggle yo back till it aint wack.

the honda fit had uncomfortable seats and horrible pokey headrests.

want good seats? i got to drive my aunts Equus. i felt like i was getting a personal massage while i drove. (AND I WAS!!)

I've driven my car to San Francisco quite a few times and to LA and back twice. (Or is it three times?) It's pretty decent for a couple hours, but after the 6+ hour LA drive, I'll admit that they're not the best in the world. The seats are way less of a pain than dealing with the slightly-crooked steering that I can't get straightened out, though.

If i do ANY type of highway driving but back hurts. I might have to upgrade the seat @Font Motorsports.
