im absolutely repulsed by it. for some reason whenever i hear/read someone talking about their "rims" it makes me feel sick.

they're wheels.

ppl tell me someone agrees with me.

I hated it for a long time, but I've since caved in and I find myself using the word sometimes.

wheels...rims... they've become synonymous these days. it doesn't drive me crazy as much as calling a car a whip does.

whenever I hear the word rims I think chrome 24''s with spinners on an escofade, dunno why.

I agree. just the thought of hearing someone say it literally makes me vomit uncontrollably. In fact, the last time it happened... I need to be rushed to the hospital. After a couple months in a coma, I was fine.

I try to say wheels as often as possible. Sometimes rims slip out though. I agree it has an Escalade on 24s feel to it.

Here's a short rim related story for you. I live in Ottawa and the only pro sports team we have here is the NHL's Ottawa Senators. I was at a gas station and one of the players was at the next pump with his Escalade or Denali with 24s on it. Every time I run into one of those guys, they act all low key and hate when people talk to them. My advice for these fellas is If you want to be low key and not attract attention, don't drive a ******* Escalade with 24s on it.

thats why you buy a nice enough set off... not sure what to call them, but you call them by the brand like some volks, works, te-37's then their is no mistaken what you have. but until you can afford something like that then they are just down grades from stock.

It's probably because most people just associate the word wheel with tires because they are too dumb to know the difference.

Rims does not bother me, What annoys the s*** out of me is when somebody calls nitrous oxide "NOS". Alot of people that see my bottle say OMG man you have NOS.

I call wheels rims all the time, actually all the time. Any aftermarket rims that is.

idk, i just cant stand that word. someone says rims during a car conversation, and they feel like magazine tuners to me, like someone who reads super street, and thats the extent of his knowledge. and im sure weve all talked to people like that.

i guess, since i used to do bmx before i got my license, rims were the actual rim of the wheel. then once it had a hub, and was spoked, it was a wheel.

the word rims reminds me of the fast and the furious too...

Just like NOS is fast and the furious style, To me Rim is the rim of a car, So if I got a badass set of rims I got 4 new rims. If I got wheels........IDK same thing but for some reason I think of Wheels as rims and tires!!
