Does anybody have stock Black Leather?

Wait and see if they disappear in the warmer weather. My thought is that your body heat makes the leather softer so it conforms to your butt, and then it cools down quickly after you leave and maintains that shape.

I also noticed I'm starting to get a wrinkle in my side bolster from getting in and out. Time for a botox injection! Seriously...got get the conditioner on them this weekend.

Kinda off topic: anyone pissed about the shifter & e-brake boot being vinyl and not leather??? You would think they'd include it with the leather interior. Oh well, I may change them out eventually.

i only have the marks on the driver's side though.. anyone else have em on the passenger seats or rear?

Leather Seats

What I Did To Reduce The A$$ Marks Is To Sit On A Pillow With A Towel Around It. My Car Only Has 6,000 Miles And Since The 1st Week, It Showed The Marks.....???!!! :(

I always liked them. How often do you clean your seats? Do you prefer your leather seats look shiny or not at all?
I use armour-all leather wipes for frequent cleaning, and a thicker treatment every so-often. I just got my P5, but that is what I do on the Lightning, and what I did with my old SHO.

Don't use armour-all....it has alcohol in it and will dry out the leather which is what causes cracking. Use a leather conditioner without alcohol.

I don't think the temps are that bad with the leather. I use the meguiars wipes, they do pretty good. I've got the ass indent in the driver seat, but I spend almost 4 hours a day in them. (7 months old,28K miles) the rear ones are deformed from my child seats, but after a day w/o them in the indents go away. I also have cardboard on the rear seats to keep the indents to a minimum.

I don't have ass marks in the rear, but the rear seats hold the pressure points when I fold them down for more than a few minutes...they just won't go away.

i love my leather :)
wouldn't have it any other way !
meguiar's makes a good leather conditioner/protectant it's awesome i use it about every 3 or 4 months

OK, this is a bit of a threadjack, but at the risk of sounding like a dumbass I bought in to the environmental package at the dealer w/my new car purchase. At first I thought, "Yeah, yeah, undercoating-type BS." However, this package includes a treatment on the paint and the leather, and both are guaranteed against blemishes, etc. Supposedly I won't need to treat my leather or apply wax to the exterior during the guarantee period (I want to say 7 years???).

Anyway, I have only had the car for 9,XXX miles, but so far so good...my leather looks like new. Anybody else fall for this sales "trick"...I guess what I'm asking here is am I just gullible?

I have the leather too and love it. The first P5 I had was cloth and I definitely like the leather better. More comfy, let's me slide around easily for sitting adjustment and it doesn't create so much static so no "Ouch" when I exit the car and touch the door :-)

I use the Armor All leather wipes every other time I wash and use the Meguiar's Cleaner, then the Meguiar's Conditioner about once a month. I must say the Meguiar's DOES have a nice smell. I hadn't heard about the alcohol thing...I'll have to look at the ingredients of those leather wipes to check for alcohol. I'm sure alcohol is NOT good for leather and I just assumed that since the wipes were for leather they wouldn't have anything damaging in them.

Since I saw this, I went home to look at my container of Armor All Leather wipes. I didn't find any information on the ingredients to find out if there is alcohol in those. Any suggestions on where I could find this information?

I think he meant regular Armor-All (the dashboard stuff). Any product designed for use on leather shouldn't have alcohol in it -- unless the manufacturer has major cranal-rectal syndrome.

I am awaiting a reply from Armor All regarding the ingredients. I'll post when and if they give me an answer.

I guess(?) there is no alcohol in the product. (shrug)

That sounds like no alcohol to me and sounds like they are safe for leather. Like I had said before, I simply use them for a quick cleaning/protect in between using the Meguiar's cleaner and protectant, so I'm sure they are fine to use. They do seem like the liquid like stuff in them is like a lotion. It's really moist feeling and doesn't seem to dry out my hands when I use them, so that would make me feel like there isn't any alcohol. Thanks for posting the reply.

No problem. Like I mentioned earlier I have the guaranteed dealer protection so I'll stick with a wet cloth, but if I ever have leather again I may try the Armor All wipes.

The absolute best leather cleaner/conditioner is LEXOL. Trust me, I work for a company that manufactures leather interiors.

I've heard Lexol is good. I've never tried it, but heard about it. Thanks for the input.
