Does Adaptive Cruise Control brake when car ahead has stopped?

Kedis, very well stated and I suspect you are probably exactly right on. I'm pleased with my 16 GT AWD w/tech. I need to move along. Doesn't help that two of my family member just bought cars with Adaptive Cruise within the time frame of my purchase. But one of those purchase was an Audi diesel. Um...well, different thread altogether.

I have had basically the same system in my '07 G35x for the last 8 years and thought I would use it more than I actually do. I have driven a car with "full speed range (0+)" adaptive and I found that very usable but the system I have and the one in Mazda are limited to speeds above 20 MPH. I suppose it depends on your traffic conditions.... I live in Western WA so traffic generally sucks. Again.... just my opinions and experiences.

It could be the throttle tip in on the G is too extreme for that kind a of system. Perhaps on the Mazda it is far more bearable... in addition to being 8+ year newer tech. The system in my Infiniti dates back to original use in 2002 Qx4 & Q45.

My commute is mostly highway and under 20 miles at that. I agree, it might not be used all that much. I suppose I could have just driven one at the dealership prior to purchase and possibly recognized it wouldn't be worth the extra $1,500 price tag.
