Does a 2003 Protege LX have double DIN audio?

Does a 2003 Protege LX have double DIN audio? I want to add an adapter so I can direct plug my Treo 650 or my PPC6700 to play music or voice (GPS navigation directions) through the speaker's. I have been using an FM transmitter, but the fiedlity for music is not as good as a direct connect.

Several adapters appear to be available that require double DIN. I think mine is double DIN (I have the 6-CD changer, but no tape player), but I need to confirm my model year has double DIN.

Further, any recommendations as to which to get? I was interested in the Sylfex unit except they seem to just make small production runs so they are hard to get.

DIN is the standard physical dimensions of the audio unit.. if your unit is filling the whole square-ish opening in the dash, it's double-DIN.

The AuxMod (the sylfex unit IIRC) is awesome! I installed one on a Mazda3. It also works out well that you don't have the tape adapter because that's where it plugs in.

Yes. All the proteges (or at least the 3rd gens) are the same. It's just some came from the factory with an aftermarket radio (MSP, MP3-Kenwood).
