Do you wait 30 second before shutting the car to let the turbo cool down?

yea, I'm still getting used to it but I like to give it 30-45 seconds to wind down..I'll usually spend that time winding up my iPod cable and sticking it in the center console.

I also wait when starting the engine, especially cold starts, until the RPMs drop below 1,000. My friend taught me that one...

I try to leave extra seconds before I shut down the engine, but when you are about to be late at work.....any extra second is too much to wait .... >_<

Remote start with timer

I have installed a VIPER 5901 with remote start and turbo timer set to 3 minutes in my '08 MS3 GT. It really gives me the peace of mind knowing that I get into the car and it's ready to drive. When I arrive at my destination I can get out and lock it without worrying about the turbo cooling down. It is awesome!!!!

I had fun driving home today -- both sets of twisties were mouth-breather clear. Ran through both at around 4,500 in fourth. As a result, he got to idle for a few minutes with the hood up.

greddy TT does my 30s-1m for me, alot of people say you dont have to but, they can do what they want with there car, its a peace of mind thing for me.

Ive heard some people say you have to wait 30 second before shutting the mazdaspeed 3 off, I dont do that with mine...should I do it?

Do you guys do it?

unless you're on boost all the way into your garage, theres no need.

turbo technology has moved on since the 80's.

the mazda manual says a lot of CYA s*** that's ridiculous and not required.

even borg-warner says its not needed. and they should know, since it's their turbo.

subaru removed that from their manuals ages ago, since its not needed.
