Do you ever see another Mazda2 on the road?

It seems I'm the only Mazda 2 driving around the Portland area. We've had our Mazda 2 for 1-1/2 months now & have seen only 1 other Mazda 2 in the entire time. And the 1 I did see was some dealer or Mazda Rep, it was painted up to advertise it was a Mazda 2.

I also have an 2010 RX-8 & find they're almost as rare. I might see 1-2 RX-8's a week, maybe 3 if the sun comes out. We're really glad we chose the RX-8 over the Miata, Miata's are a nice drive, but they're all over the place

Now we walk out to the driveway asking do we take the 2 or the 8. We get stares no matter which car we decide to drive.

portland is a big city...theyre out there, im sure one week youll see 10 to compensate. Truth be told ive only seen a few myself of the 2 in the month ive had it...maybe 5...the fiesta is waaay outselling it...and now the new hyundai which gets 40mpg and is just as cheap and a lot prettier will be getting the sales too.

I have had mine for 2 months, and I only saw 2 others on the road the entire time. One was on a major highway so it could have been from anywhere. The other I acrually saw go by my apartment complex which was strange. Overall though I was thinking the same how I never really see them. I don't mind though.

I've only ever seen three other 2's out driving around; one was in SoCal when I was there last fall, and the other two have been in town (a red one a college girl was driving, and a twin of mine). I've seen probably three times as many Fiestas in that time (though, interestingly enough, most of them have been sedans).

Now that I have a m2 I've noticed a few more out there. I've probably seen about 5 haha.

Last Fall when I got mine there was only one other 2 in the area, now I see about five total running around...slowly growing.

I live in a city of just over 50,000 people (100k total within the county) and there are 5 other Mazda2s I've noticed since I've gotten mine: A(nother) Black touring, a white touring, 2 red sports (one is a delivery vehicle for a local flower shop) and just saw a silver touring earlier this week. Of course I live in a college / military town, so the percentage of people who would buy an inexpensive car is probably greater...

I commute 120 miles per day which includes driving through a major Texas metro area. I have never seen another Mazda 2 on the road.

I have to guess our exclusiveness will change as production & transportation come back up to speed in Japan. I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

Fiesta wasn't an option for me & the Hyundai dealers wanted too much for the Accent, almost $3,000 more than what I paid for the 2 and none of them would come off their price. Didn't hurt my feelings, my heart was set on a Masda2 from the beginning, just had to do my homework & make sure it was the right choice.

Soooo many people don't know what they're missing. Mazda hit it on the head with their ZOOM ZOOM slogan, I'm hooked!! It started with a 2008 Mazda 3 MT Touring which we loved, then traded up to our 2010 RX-8 MT Sport - love that even more & now added the 2011 Mazda 2 MT Sport - it may not drive like my 8, but it handles like its a Mazda. I justified adding the Mazda 2 to my collection to compensate for the mileage I get in the 8. I have a 50 mile commute each day and the fuel savings covers most of my costs.

Ive been a nut as well with mazdas. I had mustangs when I moved to ohio in 2001...and winters werent working out so I bought a 2000 focus zx3..loved the hatch so much I sold both and got a new 04 white 3 hatch, an 05 i sedan new, a 2006 mazda5 new, another 2006 mazda5 used, traded the original 5 for a 2008 5, traded second 5 in for a 08 blue hatch, traded blue hatch for a new 2....thats a lot of mazdas in 7 years but keep in mind im including the cars I buy for the wife in here too.

Saw a Green sport model yesterday but I have seen a few in surrounding cities as well !

Yep, a bunch of them in Toronto already. Seen one of every colour, but looks like the greens and silvers are top sellers here. Only seen one other black on the road!

In Hawaii, I see about 10 a day... its popular here.

A guy in my Apartment Complex bought the only other 2 in MT from my dealership 3 days after I got mine. So in less than a week, two MT 2's went from one parking lot to another together. haha..

Sadly, I haven't gotten to talk to the guy yet.

(Edit: Can't wait to tell him his was the one I took for a test drive!)

I see a few around where I live. A true red one pulled out in front of me in my Miata the other day. I didn't lift. He must have gotten on it hard because I never had to brake lol.

I saw another red sport parked at the grocery store the other day. Couldn't resist parking right next to it. Wish I'd been there when the other owner left the store. Other than that I've seen a green one around Omaha, but none other than those two.

I'm starting to see quite a few in my area. There is a white sport model I see while driving home from work nearly everyday.

They played a mazda2 commercial on g4 during attack of the show yesterday....I was excited...maybe they are starting to target their audience.
