Do msp drivers suck at driving???

Maybe its the inexperience, immaturity, ego or just plain too young to be driving. I'm seeing way too many wrecked msps lately on this forum. The car is low production and the msp forum is even smaller. Yet why is there so many of them being wrecked??? I can't believe that everyone is not their fault.

Please drive carefully.

I am not the most experienced driver. But it really seems that the MSP is "idiot" proof. Anytime I have been in trouble, the handling or the ABS have saved my ass everytime. I think that any car that is this fun to drive fast is going to be prone to accidents...we gotta' be careful!!!

No unfortunately, you are correct. Many of these drivers have even admited their accidents were their fault.

"Boy racer" cars tend to attract their target audience. Just think how many Super Bees and Road Runners met a far too early end at the hands of testosterone fueled accidents.

I know that I have personally felt the rear end about to come around 2 or 3 times & I try to avoid doing anything to cause that anymore. I'm also extra careful now that my tires have 20k miles on them...it's too easy to think that you can push the car the same way you could when the tires were new.

EDIT: I think that this is the kind of car that would benefit from the driver having attended a Driving School. I consider myself to be really good at driving in traffic, but I know that when it comes to the basic principles that make someone good at auto-x or track racing, I have a lot to learn.

Indeed. Me and a coworker were just having a discussion about the MSP's handling vs. the ITR's. He had a hard time believing me that the MSP can actually suffer bouts of oversteer. But, it has been proven time and time again on this forum that when pushed to hard the MSP's ass can easily come around and if the speed is too great there very well may be nothing the driver can do to correct it in time.

i've done plenty of autox, never got the car to oversteer. It just understeers like a mofo. 27mm front sway bar is just too big.

ehh, check out subaru boards......even more accidents than here.

it's just there arent many of us, so it seems like a lot have crashed.

This is the only FWD car that I have been able to get oversteer in more than once. Several times actually.

Saw a titianium at the MJM2 spin out, a stock LX pro was oversteering pretty well also. Like 2 or 3 Mazda 6's spun also...

You need a P5 bar....with a big rear bar it's awesome!

Yeah, when you factor in suspension mods, you can get the MSPs to oversteer like crazy. I'd say that the iON race + the Delsing big bar would make for some serious action.

i have gotten my end to oversteer many times... but i just countersteer hit the gas ull out of it and keep on zoom'n...

If you want to oversteer your MSP you need to either let off the gas in a hard corner or tap the brakes in a hard corner....and watch your ass come around.

I think a few of the wreck ones have not been thier faults. I think it's the speed channel that gets people goofy (I include myself).... right Jeff!
