Do 2021 CX-5's have an emergency fuel door release?

Hope I'll never need one, but I can't help but notice how cheap and flimsy the fuel door release is.
Would hate to be stranded in a new car because of a cheap piece of plastic.

What is an emergency fuel door release? I think the door release is entirely mechanical.

You can tie a string to the latch inside the fuel door to serve as a backup pull. Tape it near the bottom gap of the door where you can reach under the *emergency* per se.

Personally, I won't worry about it, though.
There are so many things I should worry about my old house ....

Yeah the plastic mechanical fuel door release mechanism looks cheap, but we haven’t seen even a single complaint here for a broken fuel door release so far.

The fuel door release mechanism on my 185K-mile 1998 Honda CR-V looks similar and also made of plastic. No issues so far it only receives some WD-40 from time to time for lubrication.

I’ve seen more complaints on cheap fuel door hinge design on CX-5 which lacks any spring-loaded mechanism to keep the doot open while fueling. The door keeps hitting the fueling gun under Texas high winds!
