DIY IC Spray for under $10!

Rain-X is the bomb, I love that s***. I rarely use the wipers and the raindrops just fly away! The worst is when its raining lightly, as the drops take a while to get big enough to fly away. Heavy rain + Rain-x = the shizznit.

Lookin good Ryan. Maybe we'll have to fab me up one next time I'm in your neck of the woods.

So Easy to do. I have been lazy and havnte done it forever, but it took about 45 mins ans I think I spent like $7.50

I'm trying this this weekend. My buddy is a master tech for mazda and he is coming over with a wiring diagram hopefully and we will try and figure something out with the wipers. One thing I had thought of just briefly was to run one 12v switch to the washer motor and then take the wire leading to the wiper control arm out wire it to another switch and then run a wire from the switch to the controler arm. Just a thought. might work although it raises the difficulty level a little, and the price.

Also as a side note. You guys and gals in the colder reaches of the forum need to watch out during the winter. you might want to run washer fluid throught there in the winter so it doesn't freeze. Washer fluid has some kind of anti freeze in it. Just a thought.

btw guys that stuff in bold and red text on the first post HE MEANS IT!!!!!!!!!!!

i was sparying mine down in the staging lanes a few weeks ago and got kicked out of the track.

Yeah, my local track won't allow intercooler sprayers. I have to bring a spray bottle and soak it down between runs... But I mix in some alcohol (about 50/50 mix) so that it cools WAY faster!

I just figured it out. I'm a genius!

So P5's have a second pump for the rear window washer fluid, but it draws from the same reservoir. On the P5 stalk, there is a way to activate the rear washer without turning on the wiper itself. If you turn it up instead of dow, you will get washer fluid and wiper on the rear, but this one position of "fluid only" seemed pointless to me - until now. You can run the rear window fluid and the front fluid at the same time since they have seperate pumps, which is why this is such a sweet idea. So, buy yourself a P5 washer reservoir, the P5 wiper stalk (it will plug right in) and the P5 rear washer pump. Now, hook your IC sprayers to the rear washer pump, and voila.

When you pull back on the stalk (just like now) you will get washy on your windshield. Turn the stalk, and you will get intercooler sprayer. Wanna wash your windshield and spray the IC at the same time? No problem!

I'm gonan do this with my car, but still install diverters because I still have a rear window that I'd liek to wash once in awhile.

ok so i didnt feel like digging thru this thread so dont shoot me if its already been asked. has anyone tried dei's water sprayer instead of the co2?

http://designengineering.com/products.asp?m=sp&pid=57

water costs a lil less than co2. plus youd prolly run em dry at a paintball store with a 5 or 10lbs tank. also wouldnt super chilling the intake charge cause fuel cut on stock management. i mean i hit fuel cut at night but never during the day at 10 psi. so thats maybe a 10-20 degree difference, they say the co2 sprayer cools it up to 30 degrees so sounds like itd be no good for me. but with the water sprayer you could always mix alcohol with the water to make it a lil colder.:)
