Direct wire a Radar Detector - Where?

I bought a Escort SOLO2, which runs on 2 double A batteries. I would like to direct wire it.

Can one of you guys suggest or help where to wire it? I'd like it to turn off with ignition. I suppose fuse box???

Any help would be appreciated!

if it uses 2AA that means it runs on 3volts not 12v, does it have a 12v input?

Yes it does...I bought the MFR direct wire kit.

I used the directions for a auto dimming mirror wiring which is down the post to the fuse box. It's really quite easy.
