I recently mentioned in "someone keyed my baby" that we should look for ways to PREVENT our cars from getting banged and bruised. So lets all list some ways...I'll start it off...
-Try to park next to 4 door cars, not 2 door cars. 4 doors have shorter doors, and are less likely to hit your car
-Make sure you park in the MIDDLE of the parking space...and not on the line.
-If you can park where there's a curb on one side of you (instead of between 2 parking spaces), do it.
-Don't piss someone off and then park your car in their sight. If you DO piss someone off (let's say a pedestrian in a parking lot), make sure to "hide" your car far, far away. This is esp important if you have a yellow car!
-If you don't have a car alarm, buy one. It probably won't PREVENT you from getting a ding, but when it happens, you'll hear it, and catch the perpetrator. Then THEY can pay for the damage. Hence, the alarm pays for itself.
-Try to be friendly with people in your neighborhood...especially old people and little kids...people who spend a lot of time outside. The more people looking out for your car the better.
-If given the choice, park next to people you know.
-If you're REALLY worried, get a car cover.
-Always keep a good coat of wax on your car. it may take to scratches better.
