Differentials....Who has broken theirs?

Hey peeps. I was wanting to know for those of you out there breaking differentials, what exactly are you seeing broken. Is it the spider gears, pins, clips.....I am just curious as to what it is that most of you are experiencing. I have the 'older' 02 P5, so I am guessing I have the older weaker tranny. Are there trans upgrades (other than the newer beefier transmissions) that are out there?

All P5 gearboxes are the same?

I've never heard of someone breaking the stock open diff on a P5...ever, if thats even possible. Now the stock LSD in the Mazdaspeed Protege is a different story. lol

You can upgrade the stock P5 gearbox with better gears and an LSD.

I believe our trannies are the same except for the diff. I have snapped my diff once already and ever since then, I have babied the hell out of my car. NO launches or anything, hell I don't even really go into boost anymore because I know the replacement LSD I have is a ticking timebomb too. At the time, I knew nothing about the available aftermarket support for the MSP so I ended up replacing my broken LSD for another stock non welded LSD. So, it may be a ticking timebomb. I have been taking it easy until I can afford to get a welded replacement or the MFactory LSD because the Quaife is out of the question as far as price goes. I believe the casing snaps.
