Need your collective wisdom. I have an '04 Mazda3s. Replacing the engine. Ordered a reman 2.3 for a manual.
My mechanic just called. The reman arrived today with "automatic" on the box, even though it was ordered as an engine for a manual. So what's the difference? Secondary to that is, since we're swapping engines anyway, do we already have everything we need from the old one. In other words, is there something about the block or about the internals that's different between the auto and manual versions, or is it just a matter of a few things that can be transferred between them?
