Difference between Optima batteries

Hi guys,

I have been trying to find a yellow top battery since my battery just died yesterday. I tried looking at some retail places where mostly the yellow top has been sold out(apparently they are discontinuing it). The only battery available was the Optima red top 75 35.My question is whether there is a difference between a Optima red top 75 35 and Optima red top 35?

Yellow top is a choice for those who run many accessories.

I have a nice stereo setup, which led me into picking up a Yellow top. The reserve is very long. Had it for 1.5 years so far, and I'm very pleased.

prolly has something to do with the cold crank. I wouldnt worry about it.

If you have a stock car and arent planning some kind of crazy audio system then you are just throwing money away on these batteries....

Just get a nice duralast or something like that with high Cold Cranking Amps....

hmm, quick question, I have a 600w amp for 2 12", a capacitor (which if I am right, is better for the battery), another .. I think 300w amp or something powering 2 speakers, 2 6X9s in the back deck, 2 gauges, afc, EBC, radar detector, and will be putting in the TT soon, and maybe one other thing I can't remember..

but anyways my point is the battery I have is a normal duralast I think, I wanted to get a racing/performance battery, should I just wait for mine to die, or are there any issues with me waiting and not getting a battery battery now?

The idea of the yellow top is that it can not be damaged by being drained and it has more long term power compared to a starter battery.
So if you don't plan on running accessories in the car for long stretches of time with the car off then there is no point.

In all honesty, much like capacitors batteries are just one of those things people put money into and never really know why they are doing it.

ok gotcha, ya.. I don't use anything when the car is off.. it's all when it is on so I guess I'm good, I'll wait till this one dies then buy something that is better and just looks better over all lol
