2011 MS3
Hey, new member, blahdie blah etc. Bought a MS3 this saturday with 54 miles. By the time I got to work that afternoon there was a weird grinding noise, so my wife took it back to the dealership. They replaced the brake pads in the front saying they were "flaky". On Sunday the car started making the same grinding noise (almost made the floor rattle). Went into the dealership today and they said they need to grind down the rotors on a brand new car. They said Mazda USA approved this action, and I cant get new rotors. Has anyone else experience this problem? They are going to this tomorrow so any information ASAP would be much appreciated. Sorry for being vague, I can answer any questions.

I contacted Mazda USA today, and they are calling the dealership and getting a district manger involved or some sort. I just want my car fixed so I can enjoy it.

54 miles on a new car, sounds like a car someone took for a hell of a test drive before you bought it, or somelot lizzard beating the the hell out of it. And probably cooked the front brakes. I have already put rotors on my 08 MS3 and have found that theyonly have 2mm of usable material. so turning them is gonna put them at discard or just above and will give you a very "s***" pedal feel.

The car was brought over from another dealership about 20 miles away. I am in the military and used the USAA price match, which is why I had to go to this dealer as they would match the price.

+1...any dealer worth anything is going to replace what evere needs to get done to make the car right...it's brand new! jerks!

Not all dealerships are bad. They're are some very good ones (like mine). Like anything in life there are good and bad, depends on your experience though. That said it does sound like that car may have been beaten on that 20 mile drive. I would actaully move to get a brand new car and not just have them fix it. Chances are the brakes weren't the only things that were abused. It only has 54 miles on it so that should offer some leverage. If the dealer becomes difficult then deal with Mazda directly and just reason with them. It's your hard earned money after all.

My car made a grinding noise when i first got it. I read that itnis common and after about 800 miles the noise went away and i havent observed any issues. I only heard the noise when the brakes were first engaged.
