Did anyone ever beat HOV violation ticket?

I got a parking ticket at my college for 441$.
I had a temp handicap placard for when i busted my knee. It expired end of sept, but i figured i could milk it for another week or so. That week turned into another, and than another, and than at the end of october i got caught.
I thought about fighting it saying my knee still hurt blah blah blah. But noone would have believed me. So i owned up, and am actually paying it off tomorrow.

I meant a single Extra...which would be 2 or more.
I dont consider two people High...Nor a motorcycle...How is that considered HOV?
A bus, van, or something of this sort would make sense to me...but not a car carrying normal amounts of people.
Sounds like a crock and some wastged space to me.

It is wasted space, especially here in Nashville. We do not have the population loads like much larger cities and the HOV lane gives people the right to drive slow in the 'fast' lane just because they have 2 people in the car. I truly think that the HOV lane congests traffic and therefore causes just as much smog as if they had left it alone. /endrant

It's because you're from NJ. I got that ticket once going north on the NJ turnpike. It was 4:00pm and the sign reads 6:00am-9:00am and I thought it would be cool, but he came up behind me and pulled me over. I got a speeding warning, an obstruction of view for the radar, and an HOV lane ticket. When I went to court the judge had everyone stand to see the prosecutor and there was about 50 people in line with the same HOV ticket. He bumped down to unsafe driving and then we had to pay like 250 bucks. The guy in front of me got it on a Sunday. Carpool lanes aren't for Sundays. So it's just a fundraiser for the town where you got it.
It's 3 people and up in NJ. Two isn't good enough anymore. They shouldn't really be able to fine you before 6AM and after 9AM going North and before 4PM and after 7PM going South for the HOV violation.

i gotta disagree with this... we use it all the time.. the wife and i like being able to jet into work and back and avoid the traffic... WITHOUT being charged a toll for a road that is already paid for...i wouldn't see it as bait here in houston, as lots of people use the HOV, and it isn't enforced that much... i hardly every see any LEOs checking...
it's been so successful, that in typical houston fashion, the city govt' has decided to find a way (tolls) to make money with it... and/or allow toll paying cars with single riders to use it.... so pissed about this... something cool for the car-poolers will be turned into yet another crowded toll money grab by the city and county....
so sick of politicians who don't have enough to do but figure out how to extricate more money out of my tired ass...
