Diameter of Cat-Pipe?

Hi!

I'm planning to install a sports exhaust on my 01 Protege, but I need some information before ordering.
I need the diameter of the pipe after the cat (no idea how that thing is exactly called (uhm)) because I need an adapter to install the exhaust properly. Unfortunately I don't have the possibilities in reach to lift the car and take measures.
Is there somebody who can give me the accurate diameter of that pipe?

I think it's 2" max. Why do you need an adaptor? Typically the rear section flange fits the OEM flange regardless of the size of the pipe. Are you just buying a rear section?

Where are you located? I have a 2.25" resonated center pipe if you are interested.

No, it's a catback. The site where I want to order says that one needs that adapter, so I believed it as I have no experiences with sports exhausts so far.
So you mean I don't need any kind of adapter?

I'm located in Austria. That pipe does sound interesting, also because of the crappy Dollar-course p), but the problem is that anything one wants to install over here needs some kind of documentation regarding its product safety, loudness, emissions etc. So... no thanks.

I guess it depends on the manufacturer. Maybe they made one different.
