here are I think three screws in it, then you can pop it out, one you get to from the outside part of the dash when you open the door, take off that panel and you will find ascrew if you look at an angle to the back of the pad.
Another in the top center of it, up under the dash above a chassis reinforcement bar (looks like rollbar tubing)
I took the glove box off first to get to it. You remove the glove box by just opening it, and pulling the two plastic side walls of the box together, and it will fall all the way forward.
I think only one more on the driver nearest edge of the pad, you may have to pull out a little plastic a/c ducting piece, it just comes out.
I used a very short phillips screw driver for all this, it is very crampeed, make sure you have a shorty phillips. Once you get all the screws out, just pull the pad off, pulling by the bottom edge.
Really tho, if you can't get all the screws just get the few you can, and pull it off real hard. Small little plastic 'poles' hold where the screws go in, so you can break these with some force, and even if you break these off, there are a whole lot of clips that hold the pad in, if you break all the little screw poles, it would still fit back on tight and flush, perfect. Do have patience tho.
