I dont have a picture but I can tell you that there is only a main muffler and a resonnator near the tip. The only convertor is in the down pipe off the turbo.

soooo im sure there is going to be a dispute on this one...but its hard for me to believe that theres that many resonators and cats because it really seems excessive....if you have 2 cats then you generally only need one resonator and a muffler to keep a 4 banger exhaust pretty quiet...and the thread i posted in the above post is coming from a guy who sells mazda parts for a dealer so i dunno what to tell you guys...
bagman is a reputable source and im inclined to believe him if he says theres 1 cat, 1 muffler, and 1 resonator...and honestly thats what i would expect to see on an exhaust.

I know the corksport DP replaces just one of the cats and that you will be able to get a test pipe from protege garage pretty soon to replace the second cat. That info came from Ken at Protege Garage. No idea how many resonators there are. When I get home I'll try to get a camera under the car and post up the pictures.

I was always under the impression that the ms3 had 2 cats, a resonator and then a muffler.

Crash, what on earth are you trying to tell us (we who actually have a MS3)?? Do you not think those of us who actually own the car have not looked under it? We aren't confused my man, you are. There are other posts about how many cats and res. which are on the MS3. If you read them you would know what is mentioned in this thread is true. By "thinking" we are wrong about cars we actually own (you do not) do you think you'll magically make the exhaust look different? Give it a break.

im just trying to get clarification and im not like GSR and believe everything I hear just cause some guy told me it was true and im not going to believe some newb with 20 posts either...just show me a picture. Im not saying anyone is wrong...Im just saying it doesnt sound right and I want someone to show me some concrete evidence because I am interested in knowing.

My Protege buddies are usually helpful at answering car and performance questions I have and they can just look at my car and tell me exactly what I have.

As for the group of 3 owners Im not trying to knock anyone but thats kinda the vibe I get too when I post in their section...Its a territorial thing I guess. They think I dont know anything about their car because I dont own it myself, but all in all Im interested in lots of cars and especially mazdas. So if i want info on a 3 Im going to post in that section. I think every section is the same way though, I know that in the MSP section there are always a good group of knowledgeable guys who want to help people and then there are guys that want to flame you because you dont know everything on gods green earth.
I'll be the first to admit I don't know s*** about my car. Cars aren't by background but I am really excited about learning everything I can. Hell I didn't even know what a resonator was until 2 days ago when I saw this thread the first time.
I don't doubt it has 3 resonators if gsr is telling me he paid to get 3 taken out. But if there is confusion the right thing to do would be go home and look for yourself if you have a ms3 in the driveway.

hell...lol i have a 3 n/a andi dont even know whats under it for sure...im thinkin maybe 2 cats 1 res and a muffler....? not sure but i deff want to remove atleast 1cat and if not all the resonators while leaving the stock muffler ....i made my custom 3" exh on my turbo pt cruiser and all it had was 1 cat and a muffler so i ran straights from the cat back myself had an exhaust shop bend it i already had it cut and measured that was bad b****... RIP :TURBO GT
