Hey all,
I recently purchased an A/T 2012 Mazda 3 2.0 Skyactiv with about 45,500 miles on it. A few days after purchase, I noticed my car makes a deep humming/rumbling noise in 5th gear between 1500-2000 rpm. It sounds like the engine is "bogging" down. When the noise is being made the car seems to have slow acceleration despite me pressing the accelerator about halfway down. Its only when the car reaches above 2000 rpm that everything goes back to normal.
I noticed the same sound in 4th gear at exactly 1250 and again at 3000 rpm. I'm thinking about taking it to the dealer to have them look at it. The transmission seems to be fine otherwise except for the this sound and it doesn't sound like the metallic rattle noise that seems common with Skyactivs.
Does anyone have this problem or know if its normal?
