I saw this thread on http://www.drifting.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4561 and thought id share it with the other Michigan guys to see if anyone else is interested in going. It sounds like a lot of fun, and as long and my plans don't conflict with the date they chose ill definitely show up. I know a few guys and the 1st Michigan mazda drive were talking about planing a trip down there and here an opportunity is for you to go. Depending on the amount of interest I am open for a caravan down to there OH meeting place, and if you like we could meet up at my house or really anywhere as soon as I know the date. Well lemme know if you guys have any interest in going to this, BTW its not just Deals Gap they'll be running, there supposed to meet up with a local down there that knows many of the other fun back roads.

Sweet. I've been planning on taking the Talon out there some time. It should be up for it by then:D I need at least 2 weeks notice for it.

Everybody that plans on going needs to understand that you stay between the lines and don't try passing people unless on a very long straight where they can see the entire road and no oncoming traffic. Bikes can't try passing on the sides of cars or they'll wipe out as well.

I'll be going back at some point this year. There are no very long straights. The place to pass people is in the hairpins where you can see the road leading away right beside you. It's hard to describe, but you can see if there is any traffic approaching from the other direction as the road is pretty much right beside you. This also depends on the time of year and the amount of underbrush. Bikes pass in the same manner although they get by much quicker. Watch out for the occasional motorcycle that will pass you on the outside of the corner entry. That gets pretty sketchy, but it happens. I'm guilty of all of it, but i still have fun and keep things within my acceptable risk level. This all depends on if you want to cross the double yellow line or not as there is no other way to squeeze two cars side by side in the same lane. There are very few places you can get off the side of the road to let faster traffic through. If you don't want to get stuck behind someone slower for 11 miles you have to pass...bottom line.

Hopefully the dates will be good and I can get out there with everyone else...although going with a bunch of drift people is not going to make for a good time...that raod is not forgiving enough for that

Oh, don't worry about drifting, every one is aware on that board that there will be no drifting going on, I think the guys running it posted something about it. I think the road will be challenging enough for most people without drifting on it. I am glad that this is getting such a good response, hopefully we can get a lot of guys out to Deals Gap.
